Fleet Upgrade for G & P Batteries
G & P Batteries has just taken delivery of a 44 tonne Iveco Stralis AT 240, the first of three new vehicles for its in-house fleet.
This latest investment is to replace vehicles that are a few years old and ensure that the G & P fleet of more than 20 vehicles remains in line with the latest environmental requirements for commercial vehicles.
G & P has a wide range of vehicles to ensure it can gain access to collect waste batteries from sites across the UK, no matter how small or complicated their location. These range from a pick-up truck up to the 44 tonne drawbar trailer.
The latest additions reach the Euro 5 Emission standards, which are expected to become operational in 2008. All existing vehicles are compliant with the Euro 4 standard.
“This latest investment in our fleet underlines our determination to keep up to date with the latest technology to minimise emissions,” said Michael Green, Managing Director of G & P Batteries. “As the UK’s leading waste battery collector our business is about providing a collection and recycling service for all types of battery waste, including automotive batteries and as a company we are constantly seeking methods of reducing our carbon footprint.”
The other new vehicles are both 18 tonne Iveco Stralis models.
